The most comprehensive study on parental kidnapping is the National Incidence Studies on Missing, Abducted, Runaway and Thrownaway Children (NISMART 1) conducted by the U.S. Dept. of Justice. They estimated in 1988 that as many as 354,000 children are abducted each year, almost all of them by a parent. And recent figures indicate that the percentage taken by the father has increased from 46% back then to 53% now. We can't sit back and do nothing and allow this to be their only option.
